Chris Wineland’s comedy journey began at just 18 years old, when—thanks to a little prodding from his mom—he stepped onto the stage of a comedy club. That one performance changed everything. In his first year alone, Chris did over 200 shows, performing anywhere he could—even Taco Bells. By year two, he was writing jokes for national late-night TV and featuring at clubs alongside major headliners. But just as his career was gaining momentum, everything came to a halt.

At 19, Chris flatlined during a surgical procedure. That near-death (or full-death) experience shifted his focus from chasing laughs to pursuing lasting purpose. He began using his comedic gifts to advance the Kingdom of God. Chris went on to become the head writer of Next Week with Jeff Durbin, a groundbreaking Christian late-night show, and has since written and produced several pilots, acted in dozens of commercials, and appeared on national platforms including Huckabee, Louder with Crowder, The Daily Wire, and more.

Chris has performed for hundreds of thousands across the globe—from comedy clubs to mega churches—sharing both rapid-fire jokes and powerful personal testimony. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he authored The Great Heckle, an Amazon Top Seller that boldly preaches the Gospel to comedians. Today, Chris and his wife Micah lead Greenroom Ministries, a nonprofit dedicated to serving comedians with biblical truth, spiritual care, and community. In 2024, Chris was honored with the Comedian of the Year Award by Kingdom Image. Seventeen years into comedy, his passion is stronger than ever: to make people laugh, to tell the truth, and to point hearts toward Jesus.
